ISO 9001-2015: Quality Care that puts residents first
ISO 9001-2015 is internationally recognised as the World’s leading Quality Management System. Being certified to this standard means that our business processes, practices and procedures are managed to the same high standard of excellence across all three homes, helping us meet the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Continual improvement of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System is ongoing as we believe our residents must continue to receive the best level of care possible.
Our culture is driven by our Leadership Team’s desire to provide the best quality of life for our residents. It is also important to us that their self-esteem remains high.
We regularly survey our residents and their families to ensure that their needs are being met. Our staff are supported with ongoing training programmes and processes, procedures and practices are standardised across all our homes to maintain effectiveness and efficiencies. Internal audit programs are used in conjunction with independent external audits by ISO Quality Services Ltd and CQC to ensure standards remain high and our certification is maintained.
ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety
ISO 45001-2018 is an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. It provides a safe and healthy environment by preventing work-related injuries and ill-health as well as improving OH&S performance throughout the organisation.
Ensuring a safe environment for our staff, residents, residents’ families, visitors, people carrying out work on our behalf and other interested parties is of paramount importance to us.
The ISO 45001 standard supersedes the BS OHSAS 18001 OH&S standard and we are currently one of only a handful of care homes in the UK which have been upgraded to the new standard.
This standard helps protect people from causing injury to themselves or others whilst carrying out tasks. It also reduces sick days due to injuries, helping us provide continuity of care to our residents and build stronger relationships with them.
Risk assessments; control of substances hazardous to health; preventative planned maintenance programmes to facilities, buildings, equipment and vehicles; control of contractors; legal and statutory duties; staff training; PPE; procedures; and policies form the core of our ISO 45001 OH&S system.
Our OH&S system is audited internally as well as independently audited by ISO Quality Services Ltd to ensure our standards remain high and our certification is maintained.
ISO 14001-2015: Protecting the environment
ISO 14001 is an Environmental Management System which helps us improve our environmental performance.
We are mindful of our impact on the environment and it is our intention to focus on our responsibilities towards the environment and the enhancement of long-term environmental sustainability within our organisation.
We have a number of ongoing initiatives which demonstrate our commitment to the environment such as recycling of waste, creating habitat for wildlife within our orchard at Linden Nursing Home, temperature control to maintain ambient heat and a replacement window programme.
Our ISO 14001 system is audited internally as well as being independently audited by ISO Quality Services Ltd to ensure our standards remain high and our certification is maintained.
Food Hygiene Rating: 5 in all three Homes
All three Care homes have been independently audited by the food standards agency and have been awarded the highest level 5 at each home for hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety.
This is a reflection of the high standards of excellence we set ourselves in providing our Residents and staff with food which has been prepared on site at each home
Investors in people: Training and Developing High Performing Teams
Investors in People is a national standard of good practice for training and development of staff.
By complying with the standards ensures that best practice is used to train and develop staff within the workplace and employee conditions are met to be able to create high performing teams which are skilled, motivated and appreciated.
At Linden Care Homes we believe in investing in training our staff to meet our high standards of excellence in caring for our residents.
This standard is audited internally as part of our integrated management system and independently audited by IIP to maintain our accreditation.
Gold Standard Framework: For end of Life Care
The GSF standard was set up by the Government in 2004 with the aim of ensuring people approaching end of life, live well before they die and to die well in the place and manner they choose.
To achieve accreditation involved training, assessment against 20 marked standards of care and continuing auditing to ensure that standards are maintained.
In 2018 Linden Nursing home was upgraded from Gold to Platinum status accreditation for end of life care as a recognition for our long-term continuing excellence in care and compassion at this difficult time for all involved.
Heartbeat award: Healthy Food Choices
This national award scheme is run by the councils and NHS dieticians and given to catering establishments who can prove that they offer healthy food choices and have good food hygiene standards in the preparation of meals.
All three Linden Care homes prepare meals on site and have been independently assessed by North Warwickshire Borough Council and awarded the highest level rating for the standard of food prepared and hygiene conditions in which it is prepared.
