Linden Grange Honoured for Outstanding Contribution to Care Home Research

24th June 2025

We are proud to announce that Linden Grange Care Home has been recognised for its exceptional dedication to care home research. At a recent ceremony celebrating excellence in care-based research, we were presented with the Outstanding Support Award by ENRICH (Enabling Research in Care Homes).

ENRICH is a national network that connects care homes with researchers, enabling staff, residents, and families to participate in meaningful research that enhances care quality and outcomes. Linden Grange’s involvement in a recent dementia-focused study exemplifies this mission, bringing innovation and evidence-based practice into everyday care.

“Being part of ENRICH is great,” said Julie Hopkins, Care Home Manager. “It is brilliant to be involved in research that shapes care and changes the lives of people living in care homes and in the wider community.”

The Benefits of Research Participation

Engaging in research brings a wide range of benefits:

  • For care home managers: It provides evidence to support CQC requirements and demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • For residents: It offers new experiences and opportunities for social interaction, enriching daily life.
  • For staff: It opens doors to training, networking, and staying up to date with the latest developments in care.

Individual Recognition for Julie Hopkins

In addition to the care home’s award, our Registered Manager Julie Hopkins received an award recognising her contribution to the Registered Manager’s Care Home Advisory Group. This group meets quarterly to review and provide feedback on proposed research projects, ensuring they are practical and relevant to the care home environment.

Julie’s insight and experience have been instrumental in shaping research that is both impactful and grounded in real-world care.

Linden Grange’s achievements highlight how care homes can play a leading role in shaping the future of care through research. We are proud of our team’s dedication, which not only enhances the lives of our residents but also contributes to a broader understanding of dementia and its care.
