Staying Cool, Staying Cared For

3rd July 2025

Summer can be wonderful but it also brings challenges, especially for older adults. We’ve put together our top tips to help you keep your loved ones safe this summer season.

Hydration is Key

Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day
Even mild dehydration can be serious. We offer regular refreshments and encourage water-rich foods like fruit.

Shaded spots are the best spots

Whether outdoors or indoors, keep spaces cool, breezy, and restful.

Dress for the weather

Loose, light-coloured fabrics help the body stay cool and comfortable.

We plan around the heat

Our active hours are earlier in the day when it’s cooler. Afternoons are perfect for rest or indoor hobbies.

Summer treats & soothing comforts

Cold snacks, cooling cloths, and a gentle breeze, small touches make a big difference.
